The most difficult part of getting into most of these sports is finding somebody to go with you. So if you can't find somebody join you on the latest crazy adventure you're planning, or you don't know anybody who wants to learn a new sport you want to get into, check out a club in your area.
The clubs to the right are the ones I am a member of. Below is a list of places to find a club near you.
My strategy for finding a club:
Google the sport your are looking for.

Check out all the links on the first two or three pages. In that amount of links you should be able to come up with at least
The wikipedia entry should have a number of peices of information in it. Search through the entire page and try and get some broad information about the sport. This will help you with some of the language ans specific terms you will need to understand to find the information you need.

The governing body almost always has a section or page dedicated getting started as well as one dedicated to where you can get started and/or meet others who are into the sport. This is a great resource to find a club or meet up with somebody who is also a novice.

An e-zine or portal for the sport will certainly provide a huge amount of information and possibly provide you with a way to find a local club.
