Hike the Grand Canyon: May 12th, 2009
After Joe was unable to go last year, and the trip itinerary did not get us the full way down to the Colorado, we felt like we had unfinished business at the GC. So this year, we decided to swith it up, take a different route, and try to squeeze the juice out of the Canyon.
As usual with this trip, we had an early casualty as JP got called back to service minutes before descending into the canyon. However, the trip was a good one. Check it out on the 2009 Grand Canyon Hike page.

5 Boro Bike Tour

I do the tour every year. This year, a bunch of people stayed at the house and did the tour like every year, however, it rained much more than most years. It was WET and COLD. The hot shower afterwards felt quite nice.

I took a quick trip down to Washington DC to check out the sites. It was a nice lazy weekend. I got a lot of sleep, that's for sure.

Mount Snow

This year, our annual ski trip was further reduced to 10 people. By next year, we'll be down to just the handful of the truly devoted. Just as it should be.

Michael and I hit up Mt Hood and Mt Bachelor again this year. Looks like this will be an annual pilgrimage. The mountains here are just too good to pass up. And they always have snow!

For the second year in a row, we hit Mt. Washington on MLK Day weekend for some winter mountaineering. It snowed on us all day to provide for a lovely day on the mountain... with 70 mile an hour wind gusts!
