Jay Peak Resort Snowboarding : Jay, Vermont

Since I have been snowboarding for the last two years, I have been hearing all about Jay Peak, and how it was this unknown gem of a resort. This was especially since the way in which the mountain was situated, it was consistently pummeled with snow, comprable to even Colorado and Utah in yearly accumulation. It was also called a mountain for the truye hard core enthusiast. Once I got there, i realized why.

There's nothing there! Now normally this wouldn't be a problem for me. I usually travel with a couple of other snowboarders and/or skiers. And when you have a bunch of people, you make your own party. But this time, I happened to be traveling with "wifey". And wifey likes shopping, spas, and relaxation. Well, Jay has NONE of that. There is basically 3 buildings, none have elevators, one restaruant, that closes at like 9:30pm!

Yes, the mountain was good for boarding. It was COLD and foggy, but it was good. But I'll tell you, had it not been the day where the Patriots were trying to go undefeated against the Giants, we would have probably killed ourselves with boredom.

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."    — Robert A. Heinlein
